The Blue Lane is a genre-defying, Halifax-based trio that merges the sounds of jazz, blues, rockabilly, fusion and traditional pop music. The electrostatic weaving of sultry vocals, intricate harmonies, lightning guitar, and ever so thick beats define what we call The Blue Lane.
Since 2015, Rachael Henderson (lead vocals/bass), Morgan Cruickshank (guitar/vocals), and Connor Booth (drums/vocals) have been writing and performing original music. Musical influences include: Billie Holiday, Django Reinhardt, Les Paul & Mary Ford, Pokey LaFarge, George Benson and The Stray Cats.
The Blue Lane is releasing their 2nd EP “Blind” this year. Recently, the band released three singles from the upcoming EP: “Annie," “In The Groove” and "Old Town." "Old Town" is a picturesque piece, old-world and old-fashioned – an unusual and attractive tune. “In the Groove” is a rhythmic jazz adventure of improvisation and melody and “Annie” is a classic number with three-part harmonies and a retro vibe.
In 2016 The Blue Lane dropped their debut EP “The Blue Lane” which included songs such as the hot jazz jam, “I’ll See You When” and the sultry ballad “Walking Into Yesterday.” Take a ride with The Blue Lane: www.thebluelane.ca.
